Biography

Mitchel Ahern is a multimedia performance artist. He invents electro-acoustic musical instruments and performs on them solo and in various ensembles including The Invented Thing Quartet and PKD. He also writes structured performance art pieces which are performed solo or in groups. Currently he continues to perform "Martha Stewart in the Underworld" and "Perky Pat Layouts" His piece "SNGLRTY" is in rehearsal. Mr. Ahern is also a printmaker whose monoprint on dish towel (part of his Angry Dishtowel series) has been selected for Gallery 119's juried "I Had the Strangest Dream" show.

Mitchel Ahern is the Director of Marketing Operations for OTOlabs, a Boston-area marketing technology company which provides the interface design, animation, programming, and technical services required to produce highly customized branded desktop applications, principally for Fortune 1000 companies. Mitchel’s role at OTOlabs is to work with major brands to create a desktop presence that reflects their image and achieves their goals. He writes regularly for interactive industry publications including iMedia Connection and Adotas, and has been active in the online marketing space since the early 90’s (bulletin board era). Mr. Ahern is past chairman of the Association Internet Professionals and past vice president of the Webmasters Guild.
