A bit too much hand noise - have to remember to put the mic on the floor - or maybe go direct?

The Mass Sonics
The Mass Sonics (occasionally known as the Massive Sonic Organism or the Massachusetts Sonic Organization) were Mark Mills and Mitchel Ahern in the Studio and included Debi Lang on percussion for live appearances. Working out of the production studio of WCUW Community Radio where all three were active, the Mass Sonics released a string of tape-chop singles between (roughly) 1981 to 1984. Using source material from the many public service announcement that were delivered to the radio station daily Mitchel and Mark made large-scale tape loops, and very tiny tape edits. The band performed twice, once at Exit13 in Worcester and once at the Red Loft in Boston. All material was originally released on carts (like an 8-track tape for commercial announcements) for on-air use.
